Ask Anissa: Do we have to keep all the fonts on our computer?

Question: I was trying to clean up files on my computer and found that there are a lot of fonts that I don't use on a regular basis, do I have to keep them?

Answer: The answer is probably Yes. There are a lot of fonts that come with our computers that have to be kept in order for programs to work properly or for certain aspects of a program to look correctly when viewed. As a scrapbooker, I have found that if I keep the fonts that I purchase in one folder and the ones that come standard with programs or with the computer, right where they are, I can determine if I want to save or clean out my font files. One thing I do suggest is that if you are wanting to clean up font files, always write them to a cd just in case you find a need for them later on.
