AskAnissa: My partner and I have been dating for more than 3 years already. But we're both busy with so many things right now and one of which is our work which is actually not new. And so we don't anymore get the chance to hang out with each other's company more often just like before. Unlike before, we usually go on a beach outing with friends during college. But now, things have changed. We are currently looking for great ideas on how to rekindle the love. Do you happen to know any activity that couples like us can do? We need a sort of bonding activity. – Anonymous
Answer: We all know that the basis of a long lasting relationship would be respect and constant communication, if one is lost then there's a possibility that a relationship would fail. And of course, we don't want that to happen. Many relationships last because they share a common hobby or interest and that's what I am going to discuss with you. Many couples believe that spending time with each other while doing recreational activities or anything that the couple finds interesting will definitely make their love stronger and would add meaning to their relationship as well as increasing the level of compassion. In other words, hobbies can make a happy and long lasting relationship. Besides, it's the reason why you both fell in love, you have something in common.
Give yourselves a break and spare your relationship a treat. Travelling to different places would take your relationship to another level for the memories are irreplaceable. If you haven't tried to be on an out of town trip and if budget allows, then why not do it. I've heard Bahamas is a great place to unwind and also a nice place for its romantic and all the elements of sweet love are present. Just imagine walking on the beach with your partner or having a dinner with solitude while hearing the serene sound of the beach. It's relaxing and would definitely make your vacation worthwhile. But if you don't have the time and funds to travel far from home, so why not search on the internet for nearby places wherein you can have a vacation during weekends. Just decide on the location and drive down to travel around and see the sights of the place.
But just like anything else, if you and your partner have decided to do a lot of these travelling activities, better plan out your everyday expenditure carefully for this hobby is quite high-priced but I'm sure it's going to be worth it.
Don't let the busy schedules ruin your three-year relationship. Work is important but relationships shouldn't be left unfocused. Enjoy your future trip!

Ask Anissa: I really want to join the art club and the taekwondo team next school year. The problem is I don’t know if I can fit them both into my schedule. And what if my family and personal life suffer? I don’t know how to balance everything. Can you give me some advice on how I can balance my time? – Anonymous
Answer: That’s life. Many times, we cannot have everything we want at the same time. I think it’s an illusion to try to juggle everything. The most that one can do is to balance the things that are truly important for them at that moment. Priorities will change through time. Given your limited time and energy, choose the things you must have now – the reset will just have to wait. And when coming up with a decision on what to prioritize, just concentrate on the things you want to do for the upcoming year – not what you want to do forever. If you should change your mind later on, you can simply reshuffle your priorities.
Here are some tips on how you can deal with it: 1. Set your priorities
There are times when you want to be engaged in almost everything just to be in shape or just to meet new friends. That’s not it. Life is all about making the right choices in order for you to have a good quality of life. Some things can wait and some things cannot like your studies and your family responsibilities. Always think that your parents too have sacrificed their personal lives just to provide you a good life.
2. Get to know yourself
Many teenagers nowadays often think that in order to meet new friends, they have to engage themselves in different school activities. But it’s actually a no-no. Being true to oneself is the best way to do it. No one knows you better than yourself. You always know your weaknesses and strength so better focus on that and work on it closely. If you know you can do it, then why not, right?
It’s difficult to fit everything into your busy schedule so stay focused on the most important things first.
Ask Anissa: I wear backpacks to school most of the time but now, I’m experiencing back aches, shoulder pains and I can hardly move. I’m thinking of using tote bags instead but I don’t know how to put all of my things in a tote bag. I know my problem is simple but I’m still seeking for other options whether to change my bag or stick to my old backpack. Does my backpack have something to do with my bad posture? – Anonymous
Answer: Jansport is America’s no. 1 backpack and no doubt it has been everyone’s favorite because of the load it carries and different designs it possess. But just like other backpacks, it should be worn the right way to live up to their purpose of being a carrying bag. It’s always best to wear both straps on your shoulders because it prevents you from experiencing back and shoulder pains. Aside from wearing both straps on your shoulders, you should also take time to pack your books, clothes, and other belongings with the idea of protecting your back in the long run.
Slinging the backpack on only one shoulder puts pressure on only that particular side of the body. Eventually, it will cause your shoulder to arch forward to support more of the weight and stay that way even you’re not carrying a pack. So to avoid neck and shoulder pains, and to maintain proper balance, both shoulders should share the loads. Besides, your bag will feel much lighter that way.
Don’t just put your stuff in your backpack. Arrange your things such that the heaviest lies closest to your back. This way, the weight is more evenly distributed and won’t pull you backward and cause you to arch your back.
Also, don’t carry more than you should. Having more than 10 pounds behind you will easily strain your back and shoulders. If you have to bring along several heavy items, choose a backpack with spacious pockets and multiply partitions. This way, you have enough room to distribute the weight within the gear evenly, without cramming everything on a single section, which can eventually drag you down.
