Ask Anissa: New Year Craft Ideas, Any Suggestions?
AskAnissa: Unluckily, this is the only free time I had to spend with my little kids since I'm too busy at work and I can hardly find time for them. It's almost New Year and I haven't prepared anything yet for my little pretty girls, I'm just wondering on how can I compensate the days that I was too busy? I want to give them a little surprise just to show them that I haven't forget them at all and that I was only busy. I want to make it up to them. Can you give me any tips or craft ideas to welcome the New Year more meaningful and special that can also be a great family bonding? And I want that project to be a learning experience for my little kids too. Please help me. – Anonymous
Answer: Yes, it's almost Christmas and probably a week from that will be New Year already and so the world rejoices! However, if you were too busy this year and haven't got a lot of time to spend it with your kids, why not start the Year 2010 with a new resolution? Probably, more time with them would be a great suggestion. Kids always enjoy the company of their parents especially girls because they will feel that their parents are doing an extra effort just to be with them.
Your question regarding the tips to welcome the New Year with your little girls is pretty simple. I suggest you make a savings bank for the kids and teach them how to save. It's not a complex thing to do because all you need to have is an empty coffee can, paper, magazine photos, markers, paints, crayons and other embellishments of your choice. Together with the kids, tell them to decorate the empty coffee can with the materials available and have an inspiration or what they want to receive at the end of 2010. Then, cut a slot in the lid in order to accommodate the paper bills and coins. And it's not only a good activity for children but also to adults for it can teach you how to save for a certain thing that you wanted and eventually, you'll get surprised on how much you have saved at the end of the year.
Welcoming the New Year with fun ideas can make the entire year special. It doesn't matter how you celebrate it, as long as the family members are complete, then it's all good to have a Happy New Year!
