AskAnissa: My kids are really excited for their first trip overseas and this year, we will be visiting the land of the Cherry Blossoms, Japan. However, I know that my kids will be bored during the long flight of 11 hours and 20 minutes on our way there. I need suggestions on what my kids can do while we are waiting in the airport as well as inside the plane. I don't want them to be bored and just to be sleeping the whole time. Can you give us some tips like games and other educational stuff that could probably relieve the tediousness and just forget about the long hours doing nothing? My kids are ages 6 and 8, all boys! - Anonymous

Yes, you're right, you're kids will be bored during the long hours and may think that they rather stay home, watch television and play computer games rather than going with you and your husband in an out of the country trip. AskAnissa: It's almost time for winter and my kids are worried because there's no more time for outdoor games under the heat of the sun. My husband and I are a bit worried because for sure, they will be bored doing nothing at home. Can you give us any suggestions on how we can make the season fun for our little ones despite the cold weather outside? My boys aren't that excited with crafts however our little girl loves doing art works. They already attend school, two in pre-school and one in first grade. Now, we're in between. Hope you can give us some advice. - Anonymous

Answer: When you already feel the coldness into your skin then it's an indication that it's the beginning of something really cold, winter. Many kids don't like winter except for building a snowman near your garage. However, not all parents allow these things all the time because their little ones may catch colds. And so, parents often resort to different ideas that could make the cold weather worthwhile and exciting for their sons and daughters.

For the boys

Boys are picky all the times and they only want to do the things that they love to. And unsurprisingly, do you know what boys love? They love to play games and building blocks especially when they are still at the age of 6 to 8 years old. As for the little boys, tell dad to play with them and enjoy the cold weather together. They will really enjoy playing computer games or Lego per se. They find themselves happy even though they are just inside their homes whenever there's a computer or something to build on. They see it as their project. But if they are already tired of playing the Lego blocks, they can always check the Lego games online.

For the girls

Girls love to do arts and crafts and to be with mom all the time. Little girls wanted something "new" on their daily routine and during winter, encourage them to do crafts like play do's and clays. I'm sure they would love to mold miniatures of their favorite cartoon characters through clay, as well as making inedible cookie designs. Through which, these little kids will find the hidden baker within. And if they don't want to play with the real thing, they can also do online games that help them develop their motor skills.

AskAnissa: My little darlings kept on asking me where we can buy winter coloring sheets because they will use in school for their next year's activity. They are bugging me the whole weekend and now I'm pressured. I need to find those coloring sheets as soon as possible or else they will feel bad. I don't have the time to go to the stores and check out one for them since I'm too busy cleaning the house because our relatives will come and have a sleep over. I'm now stuck with the idea on where I can find it. I don't mind if it's a printable activity or a website that actually sells it and delivers it at home. I need help, badly. Hope you can give me some suggestions. Thanks! - Anonymous

Answer: I guess every mom finds a way whenever their kids need something especially school related activities for they are always supportive in every step of the way. Nowadays, the "in thing" when it comes to instant school assignments would be the printable activities that can be downloadable anywhere and anytime of the day.

Printable activities are often used by parents who wants to give their kids the immediate work to do especially when they are busy. Of course, they wanted to give the little kids a job to do too. As for your case, there are a lot of printable activities specifically Winter Printable that are just perfect for their school assignment which you can find online. One site that gives tons of ideas would be the Family Fun Website. It's a website wherein they give ideas and fun downloads for parents and kids who wanted to do some coloring activities.

You can never go wrong if you download the printable online because aside from the fact that it is printed in just how many seconds, your kids can also choose the designs they want for their homework. I have found this interesting activity in FamilyFun.go.com; it's a coloring activity wherein it pictures out an ice skating adventure with the animal friends. It's just right for their school homework, a winter activity!

Parents should always make it to a point that they don't disappoint their kids when it comes to their home work. If your kids make an effort in being active in school, then parents should also do it.
