Ask Anissa: Why Can’t I Lose Weight?

by Anissa on February 7, 2013

I get questions all the time about weight loss, but I am not a doctor or a nutritionist. I usually turn down questions like this and refer readers to their physician. I highly recommend you see your own doctor. I was asked to review a book by Dr. Berg about fat burning, which I was interested in and will share some thoughts below. Please do not take this for medical advice, see your own physician before making any changes.

The 7 Principles of Fat Burning is the handbook to the sensational Berg Diet that has empowered thousands of people to get healthy, lose weight and keep it off. It shows how to activate your fat-burning hormones with a tailor-made eating and exercise plan for your body type.

The 7 Principles is a highly practical book that provides clear explanations-aided by dozens of charts and illustrations-of the principles of healthy weight loss. Easy-to-understand health and nutrition information and simple tests to determine your correct body type are the keys to its success. Knowledge is power and The 7 Principles of Fat Burning gives dieters the power to take command by eating the healthy diet that activates the fat-burning hormones for their body type.

For years people have been told to lose weight to be healthy. The truth is, you need to get healthy to lose weight. The Seven Principles of Fat Burning shows you how. Dr. Berg thoroughly educates readers and puts them right where they should be: in charge of their own weight.

Dr. Berg’s new book The 7 Principles of Fat Burning promises:

*Increased energy
*No more cravings
*Decrease your stress
*Get a sense of well being
*Improve your sleep quality
*Consistent fat burning
*Get your shape back

“Berg diets are tailor-made to your body type. Fat doesn’t accumulate randomly but is distributed on your body according to what is going on with your hormones. You have six fat-burning hormones and the key to weight loss is their activation. In order to activate them you need to get healthy. Berg diets get your body healthy in a way that is right for your body type while you consistently burn those pounds off!”

According to the book there are 4 different, hormonal body types. Adrenal, Liver, Ovary & Thyroid.

The book includes sections on nutrition (it offers sample meal plans) and exercise and I even tried a few of the recipes which were a hit with the entire family including the Walnut Chicken, some salad variations, and Chicken with Herbed Cheese.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about the right foods for their body type.  “The 7 Principles of Fat Burning” by Dr. Eric Berg.
